My Expectations for Y4IT

Since we will have the Model A for this year’s field trip and seminars, which includes one major field trip which is to be held in Manila, one minor field trip within Mindanao, one national seminar and lastly, two hours of interpersonal skills. As stated, this model has one national seminar which was the Y4IT and it will be held at SMX Convention in SM Mall of Asia. It would be a big opportunity to us students to join this kind of national seminar. But what does this Y4IT all about? This Y4IT serves as a hub for computer enthusiasts and technopreneur to share ideas and talk about the latest breakthrough in Information Technology. It is considered as the biggest gathering of IT experts and professionals, students and educators. According to our instructor, it was been a decade since this event begun and it had reached 15,000 participants or more since then. It was performed yearly and I guess that there will be lots of ideas that we will learn from this conference and also many of these ideas that had been shared became successful by the support of the partners of this organization. With this, we will learn a lot of ideas that we will able to get from the speakers there. So in this up-coming Y4IT, I expect that this event will share many ideas and motivate many minds to think and create powerful and innovative ideas to support our industry; ideas that I may able to learn from the speakers that were already successful technopreneurs. In addition, professional speakers that will talk about their success when they first come up with an idea and evolve it to a business that gave them money to earn and make them a successful technopreneurs in the industry.

One of our requirements in our technopreneurship 1 is to submit a concept paper for this coming Y4IT. We were tasked to think and create of an innovative ideas that will able to help our industry. But then unfortunately, some of us were not able to submit a concept paper because one of the requirements of this is the endorsement letter. Before we can get a copy of the endorsement letter, we must first have to introduce our innovative ideas to our instructor and it must be approved by him. Since it is a national seminar, I expect that many will attend in this convention and of course many ideas that will be shared. I hope many speakers there will share their different ideas that would make us realized that there are some things which were possible to create and help us to construct an idea that could help on our studies and especially to our industry in terms of technology. I expect that we can come up with a new idea that we can based on the shared ideas by the IT experts that attends in this convention. Maybe we can combine the ideas and make a new one that will become a nice proposal for our upcoming IT Project. Or maybe it can motivate our minds to develop our hidden talents, the things in which we were good at and by this we will able to pursue and achieve what we want to be.

With this event, it would be a good opportunity to make a decision of what do I specialize in the IT industry so that someday when I will become a successful technopreneur and maybe this seminar will guide me through that. It can give me an inspiration or some tips to pursue that dream that I am longing for. This seminar will serves as guidance for us students to find opportunities that will make us a competitive person and challenge to make things that can help for the betterment of our community. I am amazed that in these days our technologies have covered a lot of categories from a simple idea to a complex but a comprehensive technology. I also expect that we can gain knowledge or learning that we can share to the people that until this day they do not know what were the latest trends of our technologies nowadays or maybe what we can do to them to learn fast of our evolving technology.

This field trip and seminars is helpful to us students in order for us to familiarize with the recent trends and developments in ICT companies in Manila through the seminars that will be conducted there. In addition, we will also gain exposure to different companies that we will be visit there as well as the seminars that will be conducted, especially in the Y4IT. To be exposed in this kind of national seminar is not just an opportunity. In fact, it is more than that. Exposure is the best way to earn our confidence. In fact, it does not only give us the experience and learning, but this seminar would give us the best way; the best way on developing our confidence and discovering new things that may lead us to success.

This seminar is surely one of the biggest events that I ever attended of being an Information Technology student, it is because it only happens in Manila and not all IT students here in Davao City will have this kind of opportunity and be able to attend this big event. And I am very lucky to be able to attend this big gathering of IT experts and IT enthusiasts as well as the students from different schools of the country. This can help me broaden my insight of being an IT student and it may help me to find the answers of the struggles of being a student and soon to be a part of the IT industry someday. Also this event might also help us students to be able to achieve our dreams and goals in this track we chose to. Through our determination and the willingness to achieve it, I know we can able to meet the objectives of this fieldtrip and seminars.
