My First Plane Ride

 

Since we will have the Model A for this year’s field trip and seminars, which includes one major field trip which is to be held in Manila, one minor field trip within Mindanao, one national seminar and lastly, two hours of interpersonal skills. In this manner, we can now have the chance to travel in others places with my friends and other fellow classmates, and especially for the first timers; we can now have the chance to ride on a plane. Since it is my first plane ride, I was so excited that time when they said that we will be having the model A for this trip. Even though I have no idea what it feels like to ride on a plane, it is one of my reasons why I am so excited for this trip. For me, it is my chance to finally travel in Manila and of course to ride on a plane. I remembered when I was young, my father convinced me to come with him in Manila, since they got separated with my mother, my father stayed in Manila because he worked there. That time, I refused to come with him because I was too scared that he will not sent me back here in Davao when we got there. And now, I was regretting that moment when he convinced me because it would be my chance to visit Manila, but then “nasahuliangpagsisi”. I’d just remembered that the only far place that I’ve been to was in Cebu. As I remembered,we went there to attend the wedding of my auntie. I was so young that time that I forgot where it was actually in Cebu. I just remembered that we ride on a ship because I saw it in the pictures that been taken.I remembered when I was young; I’m not that kind of person which is used to in travelling far places. When I thought of it, I’d just find it funny because every time we travel in far places I would always bring a cellophane with me just in case I’m about tovomit. But then as time goes by, now that I grow up, I get used to it and I was happy that I will not experience vomit anymore. Actually now, I’d really enjoyed travelling in far places especially when I’m riding on a bus. I’d always love to see at the places that we’ve passed by and its surroundings.

Since it is my very first time to ride on a plane, I would be expecting that we will enjoy this trip and of course, I will be expecting a safe and peaceful ride. I’m happy that through this trip, I can have the chance to achieve one in my wish list, which was to ride on a place (hihi). I expect that I will enjoy every minute of it when I’m on that plane ride. However, when I ask my friend what it feels like to ride on a plane, he said that it was just like an ordinary ride, like you’re riding on a bus and you’ll get sleepy. I just can’t believe that it was just like that. But then I would know what really it feels until I’m on that plane ride. I will be also expecting that we will be able to avail a promo on our plane tickets so we will have cheaper payment. Since we’ve already discussed and all agreed that we will have the batch booking for our tickets, according to our fts president, we will may able to avail a promo for our tickets. Since it is a batch booking, we will be divided by five batches; each batch consists of 9 persons. The good thing is that, even though each batch will have different rates, the overall payment of the whole class will be divided so that the ticket fees would be perfectly even. So through this, we can have cheaper payments for our tickets instead of block booking. Because in the block booking, we will booked a flight for the whole class which is for 45 persons and the payment for the tickets will be fixed. Unlike with the batch booking, there will be a tendency that we can avail a promo if there’s any.

Last week as we had our meeting, according to our fts president, our papers were not yet approved by the university president because they were more strict this time in terms of the requirements. I felt worried that time because after all the excitement for this trip, it will all vanish because it’s not been approved yet.Right now, I was just hoping and it would be much happier if this field trip and seminar which will be held in Manila would come true. It will be a big opportunity for us students to have our fieldtrip and seminars in Manila because this could be a chance for us to explore different companies as well as other places. Since the Manila has a lot better of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies as compared to local companies here in Davao, so I can merely say that we can get more learning and more ideas in the different aspects of their companies, on how they manage their different resources and different projects. Not just about the opportunity to get more learning and more ideas but also to visit and explore others places in Manila, as well as enjoy the places that we have never been before. And also, it would be a big break for us students to at least temporarily forget all the pressure and stress of being a student.

Lastly, I want this field trip to be a memorable and a special one, since this is my first ever field trip which will be held out of town and of course, my first ever plane ride. What matters to me the most in this trip is that we will be able to achieve our goals for this trip and get what we really expected.
